About drum dance
Drum dance is a popular folk dance form of Rajasthan, performed by the local artists during festive occasions to enhance the festive mood of the people. Wearing traditional colorful dresses, the dancers carry huge drums and beat them while they dance with rhythmic steps, forming circles. Starting at low pitch, the beats become louder as the dance progresses. Beautiful Rajasthani folk music is played in the background using instruments like dhol, dolak, nagda, cymbals, etc. The dancer places a sword in his mouth and manages three swords with his hands without causing any injury.
It is performed during festivals, marriages and cultural programs.
