    Punarjani Traditional Village in Idukki district is a theatre with well-trained artists, which promotes two traditional art forms of Kerala, viz., Kathakali and Kalarippayattu. Kathakali is a world famous classical art form performed in temples by well-trained artists. It is blended with elaborate facial make-up, attractive costumes, classical acting, dance and music. Kalarippayattu is the traditional martial art form of Kerala, which is popularly known as the mother of all martial arts. The artists need to undergo severe training for several years to build up fitness of body and mind. Performance include amazing fights with bare hands and using weapons like sword, shield, dagger, spear, stick, etc. The artists of the theatre will mesmerize you with their breath-taking performance. Kathakali is performed between 5 PM to 6 PM and Kalarippayattu between 6 PM to 7 PM and is charged Rs 200 for each performance.
