About moti dungri temple
Moti Dungri Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh, and was built by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal in 1761. It is located at the foothill of Moti Dungri Palace and close to Birla Mandir. The idol of Lord Ganesh covered with vermilion is depicted in sitting posture. The trunk of Ganesh is towards the left, which is believed to be highly auspicious. A marble idol Ganesh’s vehicle mushika is also positioned in front of Ganesh. The temple is built of stone carving and the walls are engraved with several mythological figures in marble. Having 3 domes, the temple is built in modern Indian architectural style. The temple is surrounded by Moti Dungri palace, which is designed in Scottish castle style. Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami, Paush Bada and Annkuta are the major festivals of the temple.
