The temple of Govind Dev Ji is one of the most sacred and famous temple in Jaipur. It is located in the City Palace complex, in Jaipur. The Govind Ji idol was earlier established in Vrindavan from where it was brought to Jaipur in the 18th century. It is said that Lord Krishna's idol in the temple looks exactly like Krishna's form while his incarnation of Earth. There is a Mangala Arti everyday which is a prime attraction of the temple and is attended by almost 5000 devotees daily. It starts at 4.30 A.M. and timings of Mangala Arti keep changing periodically. The whole place vibrates with a pious energy and you feel that positive vibes of peace are coming to your soul at the time of Mangala Arti. Every day, various 'Aartis' and 'Prasad' or 'Bhogs' are offered at the temple, at seven different times. The festival of Janmashtami is among the most important ones celebrated here as it commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna. It opens at 4.30 A.M. to 11.30 P.M. and is closed and reopens in the evening at 5.30 P.M. to 9.30 P.M. This is a must visit place when you go to Jaipur.
