About jaigarh fort
There are three forts in jaipur Rajasthan. The fort was constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amer Fort. The fort is situated on Cheel ka Teela (Eagle’s Hill) of the Aravalli mountain range overlooking the Maota Lake and Amer Fort.Jaigarh fort is often called the best fort among three forts of Jaipur. Jaigarh Fort features amongst the most well preserved monuments of medieval India. Jaigarh Fort is another magnificent example of fine architecture in Jaipur. It is famous for the Jaivana canon, considered the largest canon in the world. Jaipur was a major region of weapon production during the Mughal times and you can see the specimens of this artillery when you visit the museum inside the fort. The fort stands preserved with palaces, granary, canon foundry, many temples. Other enticing reasons to visit the fort are the beautiful gardens and the enthralling views of the Amber Fort and the hills around. The grand green gardens in the palace complex are a treat to the eyes, and it is fascinating to wonder how they were maintained in the ancient times in the dry lands of Jaipur. The fort also provides some excellent views of the Aravallis. This massive structure spans close to 3 km and is about 1 km wide.
