Galtaji Temple is renowned Pilgrims Paradise in jaipur. Galtaji Temple is a beautiful structure wedged between two hills. This is a prime pilgrimage spot for Hindus, specially the Vaishnavite Ramandandis. There are various temples and kunds, Galtaji has been a retreat for Hindus since the 1500s. It is said that Sant Gailav spent his life here, meditating and doing his tapasya.
The main temple here is the Temple of Galtaji, a spectacular structure in pink stone. Known for its warm spiritual embrace as well as its carved pillars, intricately painted walls and rounded roofs are eyes catching. Some temples are carved into the hill, bound to us to be amazed. There are two water tanks at separate levels in the complex, one for the ladies and the other for men. It is customary for pilgrims to take a splash here before them head on to paying their respects at the temple.
Due to the large number of monkeys around the place, the temple is also sometimes referred to as the Temple of Monkeys. However, these animals are quite used to human proximity. As long as you do not annoy them and take care of your belongings, they will not harm you.. If you are scared of monkeys, you must visit this temple. You will change your mind here. Many documentaries have been made on the life monkeys.
