About lake pichola
Lake Pichola is an artificial fresh water lake built by a gypsy named Pichhu Banjara in 1362 AD, during the rule of Maharana Lakha. Attracted by the beauty of the Lake, Maharana Udai Singh established Udaipur city on its banks. The main islands in the lake are Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir. There are other two small islands called Mohan Mandir and Arsi Vilas. There has been substantial development in the islands and the surrounding areas of Pichola Lake with beautiful palaces, temples, residences and numerous monuments. From the locations of Gangaur Ghat, Lal Ghat and Hanuman Ghat, you can enjoy amazing views of sun rise and sun set. You can also have a memorable boat ride from the City Palace Boat Jetty at Bansi Ghat.
