About fateh sagar lake
Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake that is spread across 2.4 km length and 1.6 km width beneath Moti Magri Hill, to the north of Lake Pichola. Originally built in 1678 AD by Maharana Jai Singh, its earthen bund was damaged after 200 years, and Maharana Fateh Singh built a dam on the lake in 1888, which was known as Connaught Dam. The lake is surrounded by picturesque view of the Aravalli Hills. There are three islands in the lake, of which the Nehru Park has beautiful green gardens, a mini zoo and a boat-shaped restaurant that attract a large number of tourists. There is a nice public park in the second island with attractive water jet fountains. Udaipur solar Observatory is located in the third island.
