    Karsha Gustor Festival, also known as Spitok Gutor Zanskar festival is a famous festival of Buddhists which is celebrated for two days in the month of January. The festival is celebrated at different monasteries Karsha, Spitok, and Thiksay. It includes a black hat dance performed by the Lamas to protect the people from evil forces and to declare the victory of good over evil. Monks who perform this mask dance belong to the Geluk-pa order and symbolically represent Dharmapalas (divinities). At the end of the dance, sacrificial cake is cut, which is known as Stoma. To conclude the festival, the effigy of evil force is burned.
