About amongmong festival
Amongmong festival is a six-day festival celebrated by the Sangam tribe with a purpose to get good harvest. They place three cuisine stones near the fire place representing good harvest, prosperity and health. They sacrifice animals and prepare meat, feast and special wines and all people are indulged in feasting, drinking, dancing and merry making. Different rituals and ceremonies are performed during the six festival days as per the traditional customs. They clean their villages, visit each other’s house, share food and drinks, and continue merry making. On the last day, they worship their local deities and pray for good harvest.
