  1. About khajuraho dance festival

    Khajuraho Temples, built during Chandela Dynasty in the 10th century, are one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in India famous for the Nagara style of architecture. Khajuraho festival is a one-week festival of classical dances organized annually by the Madhya Pradesh Kala Parishad. Renowned dancers perform various dance forms of India, including Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Kathakali, Manipuri, Odissi, Kuchipudi, etc. that keep the audience enthralled with their magnificence and beauty. The spectacular dances of this 7-day festival are performed in the open-air auditoriums in the Chitragupta Temple and the Vishwanatha Temple. Recently, new events are introduced such as Art Mart, International Film Festival and handloom haat to attract more tourists. Art Mart refers to the exhibition of paintings of international artists from France, Germany, China and other countries.
