About hornbill festival
Hornbill festival, which is popularly known as the “festival of all festivals”, is a grand celebration of Nagaland. It got its name from the bird Indian Hornbill and is celebrated since 2000. The festival ensures that the culture of Nagas is preserved and protected forever. Music performance, traditional folk dance, fashion shows, sports, food fair, beauty competitions and several entertainments are organized during the festival. Exhibition and sale of several art work, handicrafts, paintings, sculptures, wood crafts and wood carvings are organized. People actively participate in archery, wrestling, and other sports and games. The famous Hornbill International Rock Festival is held with the participation of several local and international rock bands.
