About kadammanitta padayani
Kadammanitta Padayani festival involves a ritual art form performed for 10 days in the month of April every year at the Kadammanitta Devi Temple dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. To begin the festival, a ritual called choottuveippu or lighting of fire is performed. It is followed by drumming and subsequently the procession of Padayani effigies begins. The effigy of Ganapathy comes first. The other effigies include yakshi, bhairavi, kaalan, kuthira, marutha, etc. It is a vibrant and colorful event that attracts thousands of devotees from the entire village and from other parts of the state.
