Tuluni festival is the harvest festival celebrated by the Sumi tribe of Nagaland after the sowing season. Varieties of items are prepared on this day including rice wine and beer. The rice wine is known as Tuluni, which is an essential item of the festival. Animals like pig are slaughtered and grand feasts and parties are held. Offerings of rice, meat and wine are made to the deities. People enjoy with eating, drinking, and singing. Cultural dances, sports and indigenous games are organized. Marriage engagements of young couples are held during this festival. It is considered auspicious to arrange wedding ties dung this occasion.
