Kozhikode is a coastal city in the south Indian state of Kerala. It was an important spice trade center and is situated close to Kappad Beach, where Vasco da Gama the Portuguese voyager landed in 1498. The central Kozhikode Beach is overlooked by an ancient lighthouse, is an admired spot for seeing the sunset. Inside the city you will find tree-lined Mananchira Square, which has a musical fountain, surrounding the enormous Mananchira Tank, which is an artificial pond. You will love the smell of spice all round the city. The people and the climate of the place will also be loved by you.
